The minutes of the Traditional Commission meeting held in Seoul on 11 August 2002 were read and signed as a true and correct record.

Chairman Michael Blake spoke briefly to the report on the activities of the commission during the last two years. This report can be found in the Congress papers.

The elections for the Bureau were then conducted with FIP Director Tay Peng Hian acting as scrutineer.

For the five positions there were only two which required a vote to be taken. Nominations for Secretary had been received for Roger Schnell USA, and Gary Brown Australia. Nominations for the FIAF represenative had been received for Brigette Kaplan Colombia and Aldo Samame Peru.

After the voting all the new bureau members were invited to speak briefly and were welcomed with applause.

The new Bureau consists of:

      Chairman          Jussi Tuori             Finland

      Secretary         Gary Brown              Australia

      FEPA member       Rolf-Dieter Jaretzky          Germany

      FIAF member       Aldo Samame             Peru

FIAP member       Dr Chua Tiong                 Singapore

 Other Business:

The new Chairman, Jussi Tuori thanked  Michael Blake for his work as Chairman during the last four years.

Michael Blake and Gary Brown both spoke about the Traditional website (Traditionalphilately.com). Recognition was given to Australia Post who are sponsoring the site. All delegates were asked to check their personal details on the site and advise any corrections. This information is very important as it is the Traditional Bureau’s official membership record. An appeal was also made for articles to publish on the site.

There was time for some general discussion. It was very apparent that there is considerable support for The One Frame Class and judging traditional exhibits in the three time phases.

Mr Alan Huggins UK, asked that the Bureau consider making provision in the guidelines to accept specialised exhibits of a stamp issue which was intended to be used as a joint postal/fiscal issue.

FUTURE MEETINGS: It was agreed that a full meeting will be held at the FIP Congress in 2006. The venue has still to be confirmed. Delegates felt that seminars should be held at exhibitions sponsored by continental federations if circumstances permitted and it is hoped that a meeting can be held somewhere in 2005.

The meeting was closed at 10.40 am.
